When he won the competition for the Memorial Cemetery in Sremska Mitrovica, organized locally in early 1959, Bogdan Bogdanović recovered after several years of professional stagnation and embarked upon a cycle that we could call, a little pretentiously, the great decade of this Belgrade architect. The cemetery was followed by monuments in Prilep, Mostar, Kruševac and Jasenovac, to mention just a few.
